Creativity Strangled.
This talk really interested me....
Our creativity is being strangled. I believe creativity should not be strangled. Yes, people may be using copyrighted materials, but those who copyrighted the music, videos, or images did not create the remixed of the three. In my opinion, these people should be happy that their things are being used by other people. Isn't that what it's about? The spread of things? Don't the people who created the original want people to like what they see or hear enough to create something new? Personally, I am a big supporter of free music, and well free things in general.. that probably goes with the whole broke college student package... but I just think any form of art should be free and freely distributed. I also do not think art in any form should be censored. I hate that nonsense. Why should we change how we act or create things? If you think you'll be offended, don't watch it, don't look at it, don't listen to it. I hate the whole being politically correct deal. I hate having to watch what I say before I say it. Why must we tip top around just to please other people? Grrr...
That rant was a bit off topic I suppose..
But anyway, I believe things should be copyrighted, but they should be allowed to be used in new ways. The material probably shouldn't even be copyrighted in the first place... but I guess just to make the government happy...
Blah... any form of art should be made freely available to the public (without the penalty of being attacked by the government/artist/whoever) .. but I guess people have to make money somehow.
